A rewrite of sixty percent of an operating system! Between now and november. Must be out of your mind. It's really not possible to rewrite so much of the code. But it does scare me. What if the managing director of Acer Australia is correct in his information? What if the XBox team is indeed working on speeding up the Vista rewriting? It's all not bad if they still manage to keep the revised deadline.
What makes me think that this quite possible is the fact that Vista means a lot to Microsoft, and they wouldn't even mind delaying its release even further if need be. I know this affects a big bunch of hardware suppliers a lot, but Microsoft will make it worth the wait I'm sure.
Interestingly, the XBox team denies the move on its blog. So many views. I am but a novice in such issues. I will have to wait until more authentic information comes out.
